I am a senior in high school, and i reckon i won’t make it to a university and so i am preparation to go to a community college and transfer after two years. so basically i won’t need financial aid in community college because it’s cheap. but i will need it in my two years in university. when do i apply for financial aid erudition? like after i am in the second year of my community college?

Don’t be so quick to dismiss the possibilities of financial aid. Depending on your financial circumstances, and on your parents’ financial circumstances, you may be eligible to receive free money from the government, in the form of learning grants. About 1/3 of all financial aid applicants qualify for these “need-based” forms of aid, and it would be silly to pay for school out of your own pocket if government help is available.
Here’s what I recommend – check out the Department of Education pamphlet that I’ve attached. You can read it at this link, or you can question your high school guidance department or college advisor for a copy. It’s called “Funding Education Beyond High School: The Guide to Federal Student Aid”, and it’s fleeting and simple to read.
The guide clarifies the various forms of federal help – how to apply, how much is available, and who qualifies. A nice thing is that it also clarifies other forms of financial aid, too – aid that’s available from the different states, aid that’s offered by the schools themselves, and private forms of help, like scholarships and non-government loans. There’s info there on what to look for, and what to avoid, and how to figure out how much you might need.
Certainly have your parents look it over, too. There is information in the booklet about the forms of aid that are available for parents who want to help their children deal with college expenses.
